Call me cougar

I'll take any compliment I can get these days, so when the handsome young fella at Lush said my dress was spectacular, I was just a little bit chuffed.

This is one of my fave patterns of all time, New Look 6070 . For some reason it hasn't taken the blogosphere by storm, but I love the way it fits and the cute pleat detailing on the skirt, bodice and sleeves gets me every time. Give me a puffy shoulder seam and I'm one happy lady sewer.

The fabric is pretty special. I think it might be a viscose or a rayon from the 90s and it was gifted to be by my friend who passed her entire late mother's sewing stash onto me. Her Mum was an awesome sewer and you should see her pattern collection. There are a few 80s jumpuits in there that I'll be breaking out this spring.

On another note, my short blogging career has seen my hair go from long to short. Looking at these pics I'm a little concerned I might be channelling Rosemary West as a style icon. Oh well. You win some, you lose some...
